Grippex II Small Bar Puller and Pick-Up unit is actuated by a CNC lathe's coolant system.

The patented Grippex II Small Bar Puller is actuated by a CNC lathe's coolant system. As coolant is fed through the unit, it pushes a piston forward which causes the fingers to close down on the bar stock. When the coolant is turned off, the fingers automatically spring open.

For various reasons, such as high costs or limited floor space in work shops, a small percentage only of the CNC-Lathes are equipped with some kind of magazine-type bar feeder. In small-batch production, however, the machine spindle itself, in addition with it's inserted guiding tube and Grippex, provides you with a simple and highly efficent Bar Feeder.

Self-adjusting machanism - fingers will close down until they contact the bar stock so no pressetting is necessary. This feature allows the Grippex to make multiple pulls on the same workpiece, even after the 0D has been turned.
Compact and light - Adjacent turret tool positions need not be vacated.
Powerful - stands high pressure - 15 bar. No need for a pressure reduction valve.
Grippex doesn't need high pressure for pulling properly.
When fitted with robot gripper jaws, the Grippex can:
- - Remove a bar remnant from a bar-fed lathe and rop it into the parts catcher. This eliminates the risk of
- the remnant falling into the chip conveyour where it can become jammed and cause dammage.
- - Remove a finished workpiece from a sub-spindle and place it into the parts catcher. This elimates the need
- for unreliable ejectors and also allows the sub-spindle to swallow longer parts.
