Quality assurance Diebold Goldring-Werkzeugfabrik was founded in 1952 by Helmut Diebold who is still the president of the company. His son Hermann is the Chief Executive Officer. Today Diebold employs approximately 100 highly skilled workers who operate modern, highly automated CNC machines in the firm's modern 2500 squaremeter factory in Jungingen, Germany. The company is committed to an ongoing research program and holds several patents.

Core Competency
Diebold excels in manufacturing high precision cylindrical components for the machine tool industry, and integrating complimentary products into complete systems.

Diebold produces three complimentary product lines: spindles, tool holders, and tool management equipment.

Quality assurance The company supplies spindle shafts for many machine tool builders in Germany and throughout Europe. Capacity is in excess of 2000 spindles per month. Spindle shafts of up to 650 mm dia. by 2500 mm length are commonly manufactured. Power drawbars and tool holders are often incorporated with spindles to make complete packages with Diebold assuming responsibility for the performance and maintenance criteria of the package.

Diebold shop equipment and accessories such as tool storage units, presetters, shrink fit systems, tool carts and tool set up blocks provide a complete tool management solution for HSK and steep taper tools.

HSK Tooling

Quality assurance The Diebold company has been involved in the manufacture of HSK toolholders since 1987, with Hermann Diebold serving on the DIN HSK standardization committee. When this started Diebold manufactured the first test samples for the University of Aachen where the research project for HSK applications was conducted. In the following years HSK became a DIN standard and Diebold began production of HSK tools. At first HSK tools were implemented mainly on transfer lines in the automotive industry and aircraft industry. In the past years, many machine tool manufacturers have started to use HSK tools. Machining centers with HSK spindles have been accepted and successfully sold worldwide.

HSK toolholders require a higher level of manufacturing accuracy compared to common steep taper toolholders. Tolerances between taper and face of the hollow shaft are less than 0.002 mm, therefore gauges and accessories of the highest quality are required. Diebold has designed several gauging systems, and are now in possession of the most accurate computerized gauging systems.

HSK tools are often used for high speed operations and balancing the toolholders is absolutely necessary. Diebold works with balancing equipment of the highest standard and has developed clamping units and balancing adaptors to obtain the best results in balancing HSK tools.

A wide range of HSK tapers and tool sizes are available, including adaptors with HSK x SK taper, reductions and extensions for modular tools, and HSK clamping units. A wide variety of toolholders such as Collet Chucks, Weldon Holders, Whistle-Notch Holders, Hydraulic Chucks, and ThermoGrip Chucks are on the shelf.
